The objective of this course is to provide a basic understanding of the concepts of modern biology, emphasizing the flow of energy in living systems, correlation between structure and function, metabolism, transmission of information and biotechnology. Specifically, students should learn the chemistry of life, principles of cell structure and function, genetics and evolution.
