Reading & Writing is an interdisciplinary course in reading and writing at the college level. This course understands reading and writing as reciprocal in that human beings interpret meanings as they read and create meanings as they write. The academic purpose of this course is to learn a variety of rhetorical strategies for composing texts and to also understand how canonical and professional writers utilize rhetorical strategies to create nuanced and complex prose wherein a range of plausible interpretations may be derived. Rhetorical strategies include but are not limited to: narrative, description, analysis, argument, report and research writing. This course utilizes a combination of lecture, discussion, interactive exercises and multimedia. |
